Welcome to Weald Hall Residential Home

Weald Hall Residential Home is a large country house, situated in a rural location on the outskirts of the small village of Thornwood Common, near Epping in Essex. We are lucky to be in quite a rural location, which is very peaceful and tranquil, and we often see lots of wildlife in our beautiful gardens. It is surrounded by farmland with views across fields and to the village beyond. We are within easy access of the M25 and M11 motorways.

To whom it may concern,

I regret to inform you that due to the recent rise in COVID-19 across the nation, along with difficulties accessing regular and effective testing, Sohal Healthcare have taken the step of once again closing all of our services to non-essential visits.

We understand how much distress this will cause and can assure you that this measure has been taken as a last resort and is with deep regret. We truly believe that this is the most effective way of preventing COVID-19 spreading in our care homes.

As of Monday the 14th of September 2020, all homes in the group will again close their doors to all non-essential visits. Residents will still have access to health professionals throughout this closure, but it does mean that non-medical visitors, such as hairdressers and entertainment will also be cancelled.

We hope to update you soon as to when we can re-open and will be reviewing the situation on a weekly basis. I cannot put a date on when are likely to reopen as we will need to see an improvement in the daily figures and/or have better access to testing across the group. As soon as there is any sort of change we will let you know immediately.

This decision has been made at senior management level so please bear this in mind if and when speaking to staff at our care homes.

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss this further, please contact me on r.stokes@sohal.healthcare

Yours Sincerely

Rory Stokes
