Welcome to Brook House

Brook House is a 35-bed residential home that has been converted from a Victorian country house with a purpose-built extension added in 1990 and a further extension in 2005. The home underwent a complete refurbishment in 2022 and now offers a beautifully modern, spacious home, with excellent facilities.  It is set in two acres of land situated in the lovely, picturesque north-Essex village of White Colne, on the outskirts of Colchester. At the rear of the home is an enclosed garden, laid to lawn, flower beds and patio areas. Nearby are the towns of Halstead and Colchester.

About Us & Our Home

We care for anyone over the age of 65 male or female, including married couples or partners. We also look after clients living with dementia. We welcome long and short term residents, and also offer respite care.

Accommodation is available for 36 residents, and all rooms have en-suite facilities. The Home has been beautifully furnished and our onsite handyman ensures the decor is regularly updated to keep the Home looking fresh. The beautifully landscaped gardens are totally secure for our service users, and local wildlife such as foxes, rabbits and birds can be seen.

Our Home has been built and decorated to a high standard, with every care taken to ensure it is a beautiful home. We have a hair salon on site, a library, 3 lounges, and 2 dining areas for the residents to use and enjoy. What We Offer

Social activities arranged within the home reflect the abilities of the residents and therefore will vary, depending upon the mix of capabilities at any given time. Resident’s family, relatives and friends are invited to all events.

Activities include our knitting circle, movie afternoons, games and much more. Events are held throughout the year, including our annual summer fete, barbecue’s, and Christmas parties. We also have a regular hairdresser who uses our specially designed hair salon to bring that extra touch of glamour for our service users.

We are proud of the food and drink offered to our service users, as fresh local produce is used for the meals and our cooks always ensure we have freshly baked goods on offer too.We have a purpose built kitchen with up-to-date equipment ensuring the food and drink provided is of a high quality and prepared in a clean and hygienic area.
