Welcome to Hardwick Dene

Hardwick Dene Retirement Residence is a large country house situated in beautifully landscaped gardens. Built in the 1920’s as an Edwardian Gentlemans country residence, its use as a residential home began in 1990. The home is located in the village of Buckden which has a variety of local shops, churches and pubs nearby. There is a regular daily bus service to the towns of Huntingdon, St. Neots, Bedford and Cambridge.

About Us & Our Home

Accommodation is provided for 49 residents including 15 single bedrooms with en-suite facilities, 19 single bedrooms without en-suite facilities and 2 double bedrooms one of which has an en-suite facility.

We care for anyone over the age of 65, male or female, including married couples or partners. Our 12 bedroom extension is registered for EMI and we also look after clients living with dementia.

The Home has been beautifully furnished and our onsite handyman ensures the decor is regularly updated to keep the Home looking fresh. There are 4 lounges, a dining room & a hairdressing salon which is used for pampering sessions with foot spa & manicures. We also have a lovely summer house in the garden which we use for tea and activities.

What we offer

There are regular visits by a hairdresser, chiropodist, occupational therapist and optician and a local dentist attends the home by appointment. We are also visited regularly by a musician and other weekly entertainments. We have an activities co-ordinator, ensuring that the residents have a wide variety of daily activities to do to keep them active and entertained. Events are also held throughout the year, including our annual summer fete, barbecues, and Christmas parties; all of which family and friends are invited to.

We are proud of the food and drink offered to our residents, as fresh local produce is used for the meals and our cooks always ensure we have freshly baked goods on offer too.

The grounds within which Hardwick Dene is located can be easily accessed and residents are able to make use of this beautiful area. Peacocks and Tumbler pigeons, along with the abundant wildlife in the area help to create a stimulating environment for residents.
